Theyâre not really. Theyâll get back senior but have no real depth of talent coming through. A handful of very good players wonât make them competitive.
Their better players looked very scrawny and ill equipped to make an impression at senior level. Thatâs the concern Iâd have for them.

They need another unbelievable group at around U16 age right about now. If they donât have one, Offaly as a county are going nowhere (maybe up and down from Leinster) in the next 5-10 years

There is no starter from mid Tipperary which is probably some type of record for a Tipperary hurling team.
Canât recall many Tipp hurlers coming from ballylooby, kilsheelan or borrisokane. Where is Fr. Sheehys ?

Fr Sheehys is Clogheen, a poor junior A club. That Cathal English had a brother on the minors in goal and had a cousin who played on the Liam Cahill teams.
Ballylooby borders them, another weak junior club.
Them areas have no tradition of hurling really so itâs great to see.
Kilsheelan have been near the top end of the intermediate for the last decade, bill Maher and mark Kehoe would be their most well known players.

Have a very good under 15 team this year. You are right though without a couple of decent underage teams we will never make an impression at senior again.

You normally need three good generations in any team to be successful.
The older lads with the leadership/experience, the middle lads at their peak, and then the young lads with enthusiasm and innocence.

Dunno about that. Heard Offaly have nothing coming after this current group.
Last two minor teams have been very week. Decent enough crop after that but at that age its very hard to tell how they will play out. I suppose we all now a team like the current one is a generational one in Offaly and the huge support they get is well aware of that.
