Yes, but he didn’t deserve any censure for Sunday so the doubling of the previous suspension shouldn’t have been triggered.
So according to you and WTB he didn’t deserve either suspension he got this year? Has he ever done anything wrong? maybe it’s all a huge case of mistaken identity and he’s actually one of the most sporting players ever to lace up boots. Anyway I’m not KIB man so I’m not going to keep this going any more.
I didn’t say that. He deserved the sending off in the league which, if I recall correctly, was initiated by a late Cadogan hit on him as he delivered the ball. They grappled on the ground and the red was fair enough. I don’t really have a problem with using video evidence to identify/punish foul play but I don’t think the finger in the mouth warranted a further censure and the selective nature of incidents being retrospectively looked at is an issue too. Not trying to antagonise here - just offering my opinion.
Ah fair enough but with WTB trying to claim he didn’t deserve the first one and you this one the whole argument was getting a bit farcicle. You can pick holes in most sending offs and little incidents like this that aren’t 100 per cent clear cut but the point is Galvin gets involved in far too much of this shite for a player as good as him and it’s gonna keep catching up on him if he doesn’t cut it out. It’s ruining his career. You have to accept there are loads of things he does that go unpunished too. I’ve seen him off the ball when I’ve been at games. In fairness, a two match ban for purposefully sticking your hand in a lads mouth and pulling at his cheek is the least you’d get in soccer which is the only comparable sport. It’s not like it could actually part of the game like possibly rugby. He completely did it on purpose to wind up Cadogan. He got caught now he should take his punishment.
Firstly i thought it was harmless enough, a yellow at most, it was done more to wind up cadogan rather than to injure him…My major gripe here is the fact that the Galvan incident has been viewed in isolation, what about the other off the ball shit that went on that was unpunished, like the gooch being caught with two hands across the throat which was a far more malaise act IMHO…The problem yet again with both refereeing and suspensions in the GAA is consistency, Galvan’s reputation has proceeded him here, if Bryan Sheehan or Paudie Kissane had done the same thing would there have been such a hulabulu…Either punish all the off the ball shit the ref doesn’t see or leave it off, picking and choosing is arbitrary at best…
Not just Galvan either, young O’Meara from tipp got blackguarded the other week too because his tackle was highlighted on the sunday game, yet their was no mention of the off the ball strike Cadogan hit him before throw in
Something like a citing system that there is in rugby could be incorporated…
For the love of god there was nothing in it. This gouging talk, wherever it originated, is fairly sneaky as well. There’s an obvious attempt to connect it to eye gouging in peoples mind and there’s no comparision between the two. Eye gouging is despised because of how dangerous it is. It can can seriously damage the eye sight of the victim and rightly it is hated because of it.
What Galvin did was more like twisting his nipple. Annoying, but hardly likely to do damage. Would you give Galvin two months for a nipple twist?
GSH what do you make of it?
Have you ever shoved your hand into another mans mouth?
He put his finger in there, for fuck sake we all have probably done worse with our fingers to young ones…save us the moral indignation
you GGA paedos dont try to hide it anymore
Well said, was just about to post the same point. Them Clare lads are well fucked up.
its sickening stuff
Selective citing of players must stop.
bandage knows the score…preach on brother
Justice for all
Selective trial by television is a fucking joke - weren’t the Tyrone County Board threatening to refuse to allow TV cameras into Healy Park during the league because of it? Your citing point makes sense, Puke. Have one of these cuntprick assessor lads present at each game and let him do up his report. At present, there’s no consistency because clearly if a match gets less coverage it’s less likely that anyone will be caught/punished. GAA administrators are proving in spectacular fashion this year that they are a crowd of morons and they’re being influenced by the Sunday Game panelists. That little McStay cunt will usually highlight “foul play”, unless of course it’s his fellow army man Dermot Earley who could, and possibly should, have been sent off for a second yellow a couple of weeks ago but Kevin glossed over it and spoke about ‘Dermot’ not being that type of player. I’m genuinely surprised with Tohill though as he was well able to take it and dish it out.
Abortions for some, miniature American flags for others
Suspensions for all
As a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball
Has anyone considered that Galvin and Kerry might actually be quite happy with him off for 8 weeks? He’s still injured to an extent and whatever virus he had lately has worn him down.
Kerry should get to the semi handy enough without him and then he’s back, refreshed, gagging to go for the two most important matches of the year for them.
I thought the reaction to him coming on in PUC was extraordinary and not befitting a Cork crowd known for their sportsmanship.
As for the disciplinary action, clearly selective.
Bandage knows the fucking score. What if Shane O Rourke had done something similar last weekend? Would The Sunday Game have highlighted it? Would they fuck.
