The team was in the Irish World a few weeks ago with the club and county the players were from.

Some let off for Down. From listening to it they seemed to be out on their feet but somehow dug in at the end. 1-12 to 1-7 up and then Clare got five straight points and were owning the ball. The ball was cleared off the line with Down a point up after what sounded like a bad mistake by McVeigh. Talk about walking wounded, Down were decimated by injuries - Hughes, Rafferty, Garvey and Murtagh all out (as well as Rogers who still isnât ready) and at least three players on the pitch werenât fully fit, Coulter has hamstring trouble and Fitzpatrick and OâHagan who were initially ruled out were brought on as the game turned to desperation stakes. Talk in Down that an artificial pitch they are training on could be to blame for some of the injuries. Somethingâs not right anyway.
