As ever with Woolwich, their title aspirations will come down to away form against the top sides. This has let them down badly for more than a decade now. Woolwich have the best away record in the league over the first seven games. That’s possibly a little misleading as five of those seven away games were against five of the six sides who were in the bottom six at the start of play today. Of the sides in the top half of the table at the start of play today, Woolwich have only visited 6th place Man U where they were lucky to get a point.

Woolwich have won on the road at Watford, Burnley, Hull, Sunderland and West Ham, drawn at the champions Leicester and at Man U and lost at Everton.
