Yeah but the man that caused all the trouble is still in office.
Jesus christ almighty!
The lads that caused the trouble are left with nothing but shooting their mouths off in the media whilst Frank Murphy remains one of the foremost administrators in the GAA and JBM is building a new team based on proper tradition and hurling principles, Cork hurling is bigger than the siptu men, and they have found that out to their cost
It’s also bigger than Frank Murphy.
JBM made Donal Og captain and them dropped him when his replacement ended up as an All Star.
He also reinstated Sean Og to the panel in 2012 and decided he wasn’t good enough this year.
Hardly a clear out and a two fingers to the county board if anything.
There wouldn’t have been any subsequent strikes if the county board hadn’t been such reptilian cunts.
simple fact, frank murphy has presided over the most successful 40 years of cork GAA. go look at the stats
What has it cost them?! Maybe a fourth All Ireland but they wouldn’t have got 2 and 3 if they hadn’t made a stand.

Fantastic management of a awkward situation by JBM, he took away the sense of power that the siptu lads thought they enjoyed, before throwing them on the rubbish tip
A shambolic return based on the tradition and volume of players available. Cork prospered when all GAA counties were a shambles. They’re now miles behind at under age level with other counties getting their houses in order. JBM has cobbled an average team together based on sheer strength of numbers and even at that he has hardly any viable subs.
They made a stand? for what? They wanted their own yes man in as manager so they could call the shots, the GAA is a democratic institution and the siptu fascists wanted to take it over with their outrageous demands
Indeed. You’re right mate. Donal O’Grady is the biggest yes man hurling.
oh FFS sakes. theyve had their most successful years at underage during murphy’s tenure. you could argue as well that they profitted at u21 when everyone else was getting their house in order back in the 60s and the numbers argument should be applied all the way through for cork in which case murphy does better than his predecessors especially considering he is in the age of penetration by other sports such as soccer and rugby through sky exposure
8 u21 football allirelands (2 before murphy - 9 years)
6 u21 hurling allirelands (5 before murphy - 9 years)
5 minor football allirelands (5 before murphy-45 years)
7 minor hurling allirelands (11 before murphy- 45 years)
9 senior hrling all irelands (21 before murphy - 85 years)
4 senior football all irelands (3 before murphy 85 years)
Who’d have thought this thread would turn into Cork bashing
story is that meyler put his arm around landers shoulder one evening after training and told him to have a good look around, it would be the last time he’d see it from pitchside and then dropped him
for fuck sake art. A simple story and you fucked it up beyond all belief.
are you gonna sit there and bitch and moan or actually set me right ?
its baton you mong
th new bunch will take their lessons in cork hurling from true gents and legends like JBM
Surely Donal O Grady would qualify as a true gent and a legend? Maybe not by JBM standards but by the standards of almost every other county
That’s a rhetorical question I’m assuming
absolutely, thats why the period he was in charge was the time that siptu were quietest and why he got out of dodge the minute they won the AI
