Official TFK GAA Coaches Corner

At those ages they should really do u7s u8s u9s and u10s they don’t play proper competitions anyway. Let lads play their own age and a year up. Good learning.

A good school should have half an hour on the gable end as part of the homework

Have you learned nothing on tfk?

A total waste of time. Wait. Maybe the gable end is the constraint?

Dublin will be pushing to revert back to u18 next year. 19 has been a disaster so far.

Won’t be happening next year, Cork were told they couldn’t do it.

The GAA is gas, they seem to be very quick to change these things then when they are clearly not working they can’t change them back.

I know on the ground in Wexford clubs are pushing hard to go back to 18 also. Keep being told its Croke Park who wont let us go back, and there was supposed to be a national convention in October to discuss it, but its put off til Feb, which means we’re fucked next year again. Clubs aint happy and I’d expect plenty of counties putting motions in to revert to 18s

I heard Kilkenny were going back to u18 this year regardless. Every club in the county wants it back and so do the CB. Be interesting to see if the Stepford wives go against CP.

Is this a fact?
So there won’t be any change next year ?

U18 and de couple from adult.

I see there now that the minor championships will take fucking ages to finish off due to cross over with u-15.

In the good old days they used to have the minors playing adult also.

I have no sauces.

I made that up.

But I don’t expect it to change next year.

I don’t really see the need for the decoupling from u18 to adult.

Will only hurt rural clubs.

Ah no. Fuck the clubs. Genuinely it’s the players that are more important.

Everyone says this. And in the same breath everyone says that finishing at u17 doesnt work because 18 year olds aren’t ready for adult.

Having 18 year olds playing minor and adult makes a complete fuck of fixtures

My sauces says because any motion wont be heard until next year means u17 is locked in for 2023

Excellent. That’s great news.

We have an 18 year old playing midfield on our senior team this year. He is also playing u19 mid week. He manages fine as he doesn’t train much with the seniors.

Why can this not the same thing that will happen if minor is u18?
