We had 3 lads start on our first team in a championship game tonight. They are good enough to be starting. But if they couldnt play this year it wouldn’t mean we’d be going under.
Its the fixtures between adult and underage that fucks things up

Depends on the club I suppose but it’s amazing there are 17 year olds playing professional soccer yet lads like yourself want this rule brought in. Jude Bellingham has 2 years champions league played.
I know in our own clubs and most others it’s only a few who are good enough to start and they are managed correctly.
Its only 15 years ago where we had u16s playing adult now some want it u19.
Crazy and unnecessary protection of young men.
Because typically they lad will be on a shit load of teams whether it be college, school or club and what usually happens is the club minor team gets fucked around waiting for adult championships to be over before they can finish out.
It’s bullshit is what it is.
Looking back on my mediocre career now I see the nonsense the lads playing minor but weren’t on adult teams had to endure because of a handful of lads play with adult teams.
Clubs that think like your describing don’t have players’ interest at heart.
18 year olds not allowed to play adult league games would be a decent compromise.

There used to be a great minor championship, but they fucked it when they stopped county players playing with their clubs during the the leinster championship/all-ireland series. Crazy stuff.

U19 midweek
Senior at weekend.
I am proposing
U18 midweek
Senior at weekend
Less players on the overlap but not limiting clubs playing u18s. Minor competition still continues.

Got bet by a crowd of cunts in 97 in Ross.
Played a semi final on a Tuesday and the final on. Thursday.
I got knocked out cold on the Tuesday and played away after and then the final 2 days later .
All seems a bit mad now.
Still not over it.
Yeah - that’s it. Doubt the lad playing champions league is togging for the YTS on a Sunday morning.
The schools will love that.
You do realise that almost every club outside Dublin would play the player in adult competitions then wouldn’t have the numbers for an u18 team.
All those competitions are at the last 4 or last 8. They will be over by the end of the month.
Schools are understanding about that and begin competitions thereafter.
Don’t play him then.
Or do. That’s the choice.

No one cares about anything except their own corner.

Jude Bellingham doesnt play underage as well as senior. A ridiculous comparison. His playing at senior doesnt mean a hold up on the underage soccer teams he also plays for.
Ive no issue with 17 or 18 year olds playing adult. I do have an issue when it fucks up a load of fixtures. If the compromise is that they choose adult or underage, then thats one thing. But comparison to other sports do not have players playing for 2 separate teams in different competitions at the same period.
