Ard Scoil should win handy enough so?

Ard Scoil play Nenagh.

Its Thurles who are effected and they play De La Salle.

Exactly what I predicted it to be.

Whatever about the merits of the split season at adult level, the split season at underage level is an absolute joke with no meaningful games played before July.

Traditionally in Tipp anyway Under 21 Football would be played off in March/April before exam season with a lot of Minor Football played too.

This alleviated the pressure big time from July-Sept with just Minor Hurling to focus on really and then Under 21 got a clear run in November - December.

This year there has been a backlog of Under 19 Hurling and Football to be played since July. There was no Under 21 Football played and there are question marks over Under 21 hurling.

Locking players from 16-20 away from their clubs for 6 months from December-July with county panels is not a good idea.

12 minutes into the second half Ard Scoil are 3-16 to 0-1 ahead.

That’s ridiculous carry on

Can’t imagine they’d be killed but clubs and maybe even the players don’t want to pick up a broken finner or the likes.

The only way to sort this out is stop playing altogether. It’s the only way.

Great idea. That way no one loses either.

I think the Munster Schools are going to have to follow the Leinster Schools/Fitzgibbon Cup model of Leagues before Christmas and knockout Harty Cup in January/Feb.

The Dean Ryan is already knockout so i dont know what you can do there.

Ticks a lot of boxes.

Dean Ryan U16.5 Hurling

ASR 4-19
Nenagh 0-3

These school’s competitions are a cod

Be coming into mocks then and the screaming Nuala’s would be up in arms

The Quarters/Semi’s and Finals are already played then.

You’d only really be adding 1st Round game.

A league pre Christmas could work well with everyone getting a chance to stake a claim and games arent do or die so if there is a clash with Club games, its not the end of the world.

They are when the likes of ASR are holding trials for lads in sixth class to see who’s actually let into the school.

ASR are a disgrace

O’Connor described the lowering of the minor age-grade at club level to U17 last year as unnecessary and completely lacking in common sense given the playing void it created for 18-year-olds not physically ready for adult fare.

Ben O Connor on de examiner today.
Cork Gaa having an open meeting next Tuesday to discuss age grades for next year.

You can’t have the entry age to adult club hurling at 19 years of age. Just can’t happen, it’ll finish smaller clubs completely once and for all.

At 18 they’d be legally allowed to vote, drink, marry, apply for a mortgage, drive, work full time, serve a prison sentence, run for the Dáil but not allowed to play adult hurling?? FFS, a joke

Which means it will stay at u17 for Minor

Plus you’ll need up with clubs not being able to field a second/junior team which will result in less games for older players

Eh.
Change the grade.
Make a rule that if youf over 17 then ypu are free to play senior.
The camogie crowd have that rule I’m pretty sure
