Have you an idea if he’s admitting to it in his report?

Unless the referee agrees he’s made a mistake, his report is sacrosanct. Was the game videoed?

How would the opponents feel about backing you up

They cant I’d say, unless they wanted to offer a replay straight out.

No video. Ref admitted to me after he may have made a mistake, was very new to reffing and was overwhelmed by it. He said this. But said he reckoned it was a draw. He showed me his scorecard, a slip of paper he was throwing ticks all over.

Not good id say

I’d say you’re fucked. You can appeal, they’ll ask the referee to reconsider his final scoreline, and what will be will be.

Better than nathin

You can appeal it but CO. boards and CCCs will hide behind the ref’s report.

Drag it, out cause unmerciful fixture congestion let them know who they are dealing with.

That seems absolutely fucking cuntish. It’s not the other teams fault the referee fucked up, why make a balls of their championship? People make Mistakes. Suck it up. Life lesson. What do you want the CB to do. All they have is the report. If you start allowing every side put in an appeal to every situation we may as well all play everything by go games.

knock, knock

I think if he counts the score incorrectly you have a shot. In fact I think the rules allow for this. If he admits his error.

If, for example, a ball was wide and was given as a point, or a goalie’s bag of hurls saved a certain and decisive goal and it’s not given then you’re fucked.

If he doesn’t admit his error, there is no chance. The only place he can do this is the referees report

What grade was it and what level? Bad mistake to make but appears the ref has acted in good faith based on above

Intermediate. I looked at the scorecard and had it scored myself. He definitely gave them a tick when he meant to give us. It was a fairly violent game and he was frazzled. But I gather he’s washing his hands of it now so not much can be done

You’d have grounds here just so long as your goalie wasn’t doing the same

A savage evening.

Won a shield final on Sunday but with everyone heading to Croke Park we never got to celebrate. Decided to head to the beach this evening for training. 40 mins of a puck around, a 20 minute dip and then got them a heap of pizzas and drinks. Then off around the village blowing horns and roaring out the windows like the roasters.

Memories.

That just ain’t true - puck out related at the other end as opposed to systematic cheating.

But I’m over it.

Coached a minor team from a different club tonight. Haven’t been involved with young lads in a few years. 3 came up and said thanks and one who seemed to be the best of them shook my hand and said thanks very much. They’re still being raised right in most parts of the country.

We had a similar incident many many years ago. We won by a point in u21s. A real against the head win. Down a load of bodies. Anyway Ref said we lost by a point.

Mayhem. Our chairman at the time would have umpired as well and knew the ref involved well and was trying to make peace. Holding lads back from the ref. Look lads we all make mistakes, a draw is grand, we’ll take that.

A draw? He’s saying we lost by a point!

He wheels around and goes for the ref. “You dirty fucking bastard. You were always the same” and then he had to be held back by the same young fellas he was holding back a minute before hand.

Anyway absolute carnage for a few minutes.

Ref escaped unscathed and to his eternal credit. Pulled in on the side of the road on the way home and rechecked the score and realised he was wrong. He called the opponents who to their credit said, sure we know that. And all was rectified.
