And a large chance of not getting paid.
Women?
Ya thats probably true for both up to a certain age.
But women (adults) are awful losers. The reaction to loss, especially tight game losses. The reaction is very emotional and alot of blaming everyone but themselves goes on.
You jusr reminded me. The only ref ever to send me off
I was a camogie match a few years bavk where a mentor ran onto the field after a free in was given agin his team. He picked up the sliotar and fucked it out over a wall. Think it was under 13 and they found another ball and everyone played on and forgot about it. That incident sums up underage camogie.
Thanks mate, you’ve properly put me at ease now.

Deck one of the six year olds at the first session. Put down a marker for the year
You should bring Pat Nolan onto your backroom team.

Some good stuff here if lads looking for new ideas for pre-season
Can anyone go to that conference?
I think so - we had a few from our club at it. Basically all about games based training.
foreign, with sketchy English
He should feel at home in Ballysteen so !!
Thats not what its all about, but anyway.
Typical reductionism.
Its about coaching, which is a much broader subject.
The conference is excellent, one of the best yet and one of the best around. But the GAA hardly implements any of it.

30-40% of the presentations were focused on a games based approach to training.
so it was 30-40% based on Games based approach.
why didn’t you say that?
What are your thoughts on fitness testing for 15/16 year olds?
A pointless exercise?
A fitness exercise?
Done with the right intentions no its ok. Done as way of getting to “whip them into shape” then its a fat no.
However if you are using a mixed approach to fitness and skill etc you can show them in 6 weeks time “look this is what a balanced approach gets you.”
Other factors to appreciate are what else they are doing? Schools? Soccer? Rugby? Why are they fit or not fit? Is it nearly a total GAA only team?
Are the conditions going to be at least similar for testing?
