Official TFK Garth Brooks Meet Up July 2014

Abbo was asked for his reaction during Mr. Prime Minister’s questions and stood there silent and ashen faced like he did when asked about about him saying ‘shit happens’ about that Corporal who was killed in Afghanistan. Then he finally broke his silence to say '‘I’ ve given the residents the response they deserve. ‘’

Humanity should be embarrassed about this whole debacle. Some Irish country western singer, coming all the way from Music City apparently, was on Newstalk this morning. It was car crash stuff. The guy was a complete simpleton and made for very funny radio. Talked about how Garth couldn’t let down his fans by just playing 3 shows. Like a real hero, he was letting down 400,000 people instead of 160,000 because that’s the kind of guy he is. If nothing else, this whole sorry episode will show Brooks up for the cunt of the highest order that he is.

I’m hearing rescheduled gigs will be announced, if not Thursday, then later in the month for 2015. Croke Park and the GAA will be the only losers here, Garth will not let his public down.

Can you please start a blog to let us know how the most creepy/romantic love story on the internet is going.
I think it could be made into a book and film after. The only question is if its a romance or horror.

Where’d you hear that?

Hopefully all the resident who forged letters will be safely locked behind bars then as well.

Aiken said that the GAA told them that 5 concerts would be no problem.

The GAA said that Dublin City Council told them that there would be no problem with licensing 5 concerts.

Dublin City Council then refused to grant a licence for 2 of the concerts.

A few things could have happened here:

  • Aiken are bullshitting and ploughed ahead with selling tickets for the 5. Unlikely I would have said.
  • The GAA are bullshitting and thought that if they sold tickets it would have to go ahead regardless of any resident agreement. Likely I would have said.
  • Dublin City Council talked out of both sides of their mouth and due to the lack of any formal accountability structure two separate lines were given. Very likely I would have said.

Once the problem was flagged in that there was no licence for two concerts, what stopped the other three going ahead? Brooks it seems threw his toys out of the pram. He seems to have also stopped the rearranging of the two to another venue.

The whole thing seems then to be the fault of Dublin City Council and/or the GAA, as well as Brooks himself.

People saying that we should have just let the 2 through. Bullshit. Why should the laws of this country be circumvented for some county music star? The residents are gettng a hard time over this when they have done nothing wrong - they had an agreement for 3 concerts a year. This would have made it 6 concerts (initially 8 concerts) a year. Fair play to them for making a stand. It is not their fault that the GAA thought they could walk all over everyone and/or that Dublin City Council is a joke of an organisation.

If Ireland Inc is going to look so bad out of this (which I seriously doubt they will) then good. Maybe it will teach those organisations not to be such cunts and to get their houses in order in future.

Yesterdays news- lock the thread.

Waiting on refund news I can’t help but wonder exactly how much Ticketmaster will fuck me over to the tune of.

Friends in low places.

I’m not sure what they’ll try to rape you for, but I’d say they’ll be forced into a full refund by the mob.

Just found out who Chris Gaines is  Is Brooks a bit of a looper or what?

@farmerinthecity is bang on here. Hopefully, this will prove to be a watershed moment where we, as a country, start to follow some rules and regulations and stop bending over whenever there is a few quid involved. In fairness to Aiken and the GAA, they obviously just expected to get away with just railroading these concerts through because you’d fully expect to get away with it in Ireland. Well, maybe no more.

Up the ra!

Don’t think I can do that, mate. I can only relay it in World Cup parlance. This is very definitely not the final. My team is involved in a last 16 clash, away from home, in which the odds at the start of the game are on elimination. No World Cup can be won in this round but it can certainly be lost. It’s now 15 minutes into the second half and I’ve just pulled a goal back after the team’s non-performance in the first half had us two goals down, as expected, at half time. The push is now on for an equaliser, but whether that comes or not will depend on unlocking the opposition defence, which has been done once, but doing it again could prove tricky. To win this match might require going to extra-time and a penalty competition, possibly commentated on by Barry Davies, possibly not… However my FA (football association, financial advisor, whatever you’re having yourself) has not budgeted for an extended run in the tournament and has arranged for a quick transfer to the airport immediately the 90 minutes of this tie are up. Playing extra -time would result in missing the flight home, and seriously stretch the FA’s finances. The FA might just about manage to budget for the team playing extra-time and penalties if necessary, but even if in the event of eventual victory in this tie. any potential quarter-final would have to wait to be played, with time and venue undecided, if indeed it would ever be played at all.

So you are bottling it?

No, he’s saying he has paid her for sex once, but he’s not sure if the funds will stretch to another go.

FFS

PM me your bank details bro. I’ll bank roll this team all the way to the finals.

Agreed but weren’t the political wing of the RA in favour of proceeding with all five concerts or were they misrepresented by an imperialist oppressor media.
