Poor Garth, fair play to him though there is plenty of cunts who would be happy to stay inside their suite all day and wouldn’t go anywhere near the public.

Is there a competition or need for every comment about Garth Brooks to be prefixed with a cynical or snide remark. I dont understand it. Is it a legacy thing from something that happened 8 years ago or is it that people dont like country music? Any feedback would be welcome. Irish twitter all seem to be outdoing itself.

Irish Twitter is a nawful place

Snobbery, pure and simple

Garth is a brilliant songwriter, his first 4 albums were awesome from start to finish, but he had to temerity to sell them by the hundreds of millions

It is extremely odd behavior. See it with Flatley too or anyone successful or does well for themselves. A load of cunts or dregs on twitter trying to drag them down to their level. Even Gannons mother got the time of day from Brooks and a photo she will probiably cherish for a lifetime and he caveats it all with having to park his cynicism. Fuck off you utter utter cunt of a man.

Shur look it, that’s social media. Giving a voice to those who shouldn’t have it or wouldn’t have it besides it. Best not to pay much attention to it. It’s why I always find it amusing the fellas who retweet ewan or post him in here. Shur like, why bother? Let him scream into the void and just move on.

Life is too short.

My parents are still buzzing after it. Waxing lyrical about it. The 4 of us came together last Christmas and got them a stay in Iveagh Garden hotel and premium level tickets as a present. We would have listened to anything from Dubliners to the Drifters and anything in between like good aul Garth Brooks when we were holidaying around Ireland when we were younger. I’m sure the music last night invoked a lot of those memories from our childhood and summers spent in Galway, Kerry and Wexford. We loved listening to those albums. Anyway I digress. Brooks has probably brought joy or will bring joy to close to a half a million people over next week or so. Anyone who can do that is alright in my book. God knows the country needs it.

Garth was popular in our house as well, I could probably sing along to every song on those albums.

A friend of my wife was trying to rope a few couples into going up and I was secretly (proves your point) quite pleased but it didn’t work out :man_shrugging:

Dr Peterson put it well

A fraction of all the people who make music have any success. A fraction of those have international success. A fraction of those have success over many years. So if such a person comes to town they are most likely very good and if you go to their show you’ll enjoy yourself.
