Official TFK Irish General Election 2024

I was led to believe that their policy was dictated by “shadowy figures” in the North somewhere

Some of that, but also dictated from the Coiste Seasta. Like with Trump’s “infrastructure week” policy ticks, the periodic call for Unity announcements come from them.

EOB got some more leeway as he was held up a policy wonk by the media.

Well they have a few connected core policies which are i) getting a united Ireland and being seen to be obsessed with getting a united Ireland, ii) to insist that the Ra were right to go on killing people until 1997 and iii) unequivocal support for the Palestinian cause including dog whistle support for Hamas.

Everything outside that is made by opinion poll. They don’t actually believe in anything outside that.

A real feel good vibe from this.

Where did FF pull yer man Browne from? I am sure most people had never heard of him till he was on that debate last night. He also looked like he belonged back in the 70’s, everytime the camera went to him I expected him to be there with a cigarette between his fingers, surrounded by cloud of smoke and a ashtray overflowing with butts.

Okay, Simon came across as a prick there, we need to get Mary Lou to be seen to be nice to people.

That will be €500k please.

Genius

Myself and mrs j were saying the same thing

Gerry Hutch into 8-11 now to take a seat in Dublin central. My sources tell me Pascal Donohues team are having sleepless nights.

If Hutch and Pepper win seats in Dublin along with all the other deplorable TDs elected elsewhere in Ireland it’s a demonstration of how McGregor or a similarly deplorable candidate could do well in a presidential election.

Would Pepper be the worst TD to ever be elected? Hard to think of anybody remotely as bad who has ever been elected. Danny Healy Rae and Mattie McGrath spring to mind but this would be another level altogether.

Will Hutch really be taking many votes from Pascal?

If he stays ahead of Mary Fitzpatrick on first prefs he should get home ok.

You’d imagine both Neasa Hourigan and Mary Lou’s votes will be down on 2020

He wont be but if someone like Malachy Steenson is eliminated and Hutch is ahead of him Hutch may pick up significant 2’s there. It’ll be between Hutch and Daly for the last seat I reckon.

@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy - Aontu are trying to gaslight the claim that Peader Tobin was making last night. Turns out he was talking through his hole.

No I wouldn’t put the rest of the country on the same wavelength as Dubs in “working class” areas who love putting scumbags like Hutch, McGregor and Pepper on a pedestal

The monk has vowed to silence the doubters.

That would be to deny that McGregor is not popular in the rest of Ireland, which would be ludicrous.

Derek Blighe got 25k first preference votes in Ireland South in the European elections and when eliminated was on 38k.

Neither did Dubliners burn down that building in Rosscahill in Galway.

When you see stuff like this with the St. Brigid’s cross used as a euphemism for another, better known symbol, it’s not surprising Blighe got such a high vote.
