35 years ago today, Paidi O’Se captained Kerry to win the All Ireland.
Limerick United have gone from strength to strength since. Real Madrid never recovered from it.

1911, Flann O’Brien, Myles na Gopaleen, Brian O Nuallain was born. I first came across his work by an unusual route. I was reading one of those profiles in one of the rock weeklies of Phil Lynnott. Phil was asked Favourite Book and he answered the Third Policeman by Flann O’Brien. I bought a copy shortly after and found myself nodding in agreement with the Thin Lizzy frontman.
