Ian Rush signed for Liverpool 33 years ago today.
He was here last week promoting the Liverpool V Melbourne Victory game in July, doing keepy uppies on the telly, he still has it. Looked a bit awkward answering questions about the much misunderstood Luis Suarez though.
How many did he do? Great striker with an eye for goal but I wouldn’t say he’d be able to do more than 6 or 7.
I’m three days late here but on April 29th, 1888, Limerick won the very first football All-Ireland in Clonskeagh against Louth. I’d say the lads were sobering up this morning 125 years ago.
Up Limerick.

Is the plaque still up?
Sure is. Whenever I’m down, passing by it gives me a Positive Mental Attitude.

20 years ago today Alex Ferguson answered the phone on a golf course to a caller that advised him Manchester United were Champions of the Premier League.

I was at the Blackburn game, pal… I’m still haunted by it.
Why were you at that game mate? Are you a red devil at heart?
It was a school boy soccer trip that had been arranged the previous September… little did anyone know what that night would turn out to be… I was only a nipper and wanted to watch a game of football, but I had grown men willing to purchase my ticket for a few hundred bob even tho it was a schoolboy ticket… If anything it’s a testamant to my character, as a very young man, that I wasn’t swayed that night. Many a knob head switched teams for far less trivial reasons… Aren’t I glad I stood tall
I was at our game against Blackburn when they won the league under the King. I have great memories of that.
He was doing loads of them, at least 20 in the little snippett I saw, all with one foot which did not touch the ground. I reckon he could still mix it with the best of the premiership. Always liked Rushie and his homage like image of Yosser Hughes.
rush was shit - worst serie A player ever which says a lot as donkeys such as bergkamp and henry played there
On this day in 1998 I drank home brew lager as I listened to BBC Radio Scotland’s coverage of Celtic v St.Johnstone. Then later I went to the Hitchin’ Post in Leixlip where I was one of at least 20 people in Celtic jerseys who made utter fools of themselves on the dancefloor. A great day and night.
On this day in 1986 Liverpool completed the double by beating Everton in the FA cup final.
Question: on what day in 2006ish was TFK in founded and what is being done to mark this momentous occasion?
Surprised this hasn’t been asked before actually… Rocko ?
A guess
