On this day

Classic flip flop by Keane http://foot.ie/archive/index.php/t-3372.html from the Daily Mail straight after the incident occurred.

It always been said he was sent home, particularly by Mick McCarthy.

A new low for the forum - someone using the Daily Mail as a source of fact

In fairness I don’t think anyone is surprised to find out that croppy_boy reads the Daily Mail

Probably where he gets his horse racing “facts” from as well

Don’t read it but it’s very Google-able.

Ah lovely :pint:

Oh great, lets rake through this again. Fuck you clarkey, fuck you.

It being on the 25th of May,
The kids all had a holiday…

Will Sid mention Celtic or Liverpool winning the big one today? I just hope he chooses one over the other and doesn’t pretend to hold both in equal affection.

Ten years ago I went to the Palace / Planet Murphy for the last time in its old guise.

I projectile vomited all over the place on my way out after one too many €2 (£1.50 before the changeover) blue aftershock. Great days. College kids these days don’t know what they missed, easily the finest niteclub Dublin has ever had.

Jeff Buckley drowned on this day 15 years ago.

Liverpool supporters killed 39 Juventus supporters in Heysel Stadium on this day 27 years ago.

RIP Agostino. :frowning:

On Wednesday May 30th, 1984, Liverpool beat Roma in the European Cup final. In Rome.

Off the pitch Liverpool supporters were subjected to unprovoked and savage attacks by Roma supporters, including the stabbing with a machete of a 13 year old boy in front of his parents. Dozens of Liverpool supporters were stabbed and beaten.

Men, women and children alike. It lead to numerous other firms from around England going to Heysel the following year to batter some Italians.

That requiem for a cup final is a very good doc, of course part 3 is missing which explains the most vital part of how it all transpired.

The Battle of Tuberneering took place on this day in 1798 when a crowd of chaps from Wexford massacred over 100 Brits. :ireland: :guns:

Gwan to fuck Wexford.
