From a Wexford point of view, some things to take from today.

• Reck played well and should start. Matt was torn asunder and anyone with pace will destroy him. Paidi wasnt great out on the wing either.
• Played as bad as we could. Things just didnt go our way. Goal decision 2 ways going against us. Couple of big penalty shouts not given.
• Chin is back with some game time
• a big kick the hole and crashing back to earth
• ww dont have the final coming right up to championship
• Jonah @Lazarus will never tip us again.

Didn’t see the game today but what a thumping defeat. Better to receive harsh lessons now than championship is a positive way to look at a mauling, but that kind of hammering can have long term implications. I was disappointed to read on TFK the other night about Shane Reck potentially having a bad hamstring injury. I think our defence is weaker than our attack (no way!) and if we’re going to play a more traditional system then we can do with having tight marking, mobile defenders who can play across the defence. You mention O’Hanlon’s struggles today and there’s a big difference in a physical battle in the February muck at corner back and being exposed on the wing in dry conditions on a faster pitch. You can’t throw the baby out with the bath water either but there’s surely a few key lessons that Egan will hopefully be savvy enough to learn.
