On another note I’ve seen at least 5 reporters/commentators say Obama instead of Osama (& vice versa) at this stage.

I love a good conspiracy but I just feel they have too much to lose by getting one wrong. It would spell the end for Obama and all the upper echelons of the army.

I would imagine they are trying to manage this as carefully as possible to prevent a backlash. Parading around images of his dead body wouldn’t do anything to keep the lid on the situation. I’m sure they will emerge with time. (plus it being a bank holiday weekend they wouldn’t have been able to find a chemist to get the film developed)

Well they have presented this in a very vitriolic manner already in my view. Pictures of people dancing in the streets are more dangerous than any images of a corpse I reckon. Obama could have been more measured in his words also.

A few things here. Why the big rush with the burial at sea? If they didn’t want a martyr’s shrine they could have buried him at sea after a day or two. They murder this guy then they’re worrying about Muslim tradition of being buried within 24 hours :lol: Was there a firefight or did they just execute him? Why wasn’t he rendered back to the US like all the other misfortunes they’ve in illegal custody over there? This ridiculous clandestine operation has left them open to even further conspiracy theories. The joy with which a man’s death is greeting is actually quite disturbing. Did McAleese make her way to the Afghanistani embassy this morning to express condolances?

My guess is US intel suggests he died a few months back and they want to say they got him even though he actually died of gout.

They felt they to be seen as having something to show for all their efforts over there. Also, was Bin Laden ever formally charged or proven guilty of the 9/11 atrocities? Why couldn’t they have taken him alive, tried him and if guilty locked him up in jail for life in the US? It’s a crock of bullshit, that’s what it is.

The reports are the DNA match is “virtually 100%”. How did they get a DNA sample to begin with and does it not have to be exactly 100% to be a match?
