Yes , Sweden 1992
Will you read the question again?
Norn Iron score, most players go mental as there’s only 5 minutes left. Player on the sideline swigging out of two bottles of water not looking to impressed.
Belgium didn’t qualify for a European Championship between 1984 and 2016
They were there in 2000 as hosts but were elimiinated in the first round
They were dreadful
Scotland made it in 1992 and 1996
Yes and no .
Scotland absolutely butcher a goal chance there.
Oliver Burke isn’t related to a footballer
Wales go 1 down to Hungary.
The scots lads might as well have been playing in clogs there.
They needed to win for Eire
Perhaps if they played for all us all the time they’d be better
They have an incredible history of doing us favours
Beating Belgium and Bulgaria in 1987
Losing to Brazil in 1990 - Leighton dropped a clanger and Mo Johnston missed a sitter to equalise when it was easier to score - that affected how the Dutch approached the match against Eire
Collapsing in the 2016 qualifying group when they had a big advantage
Beating Slovakia and messing up in Slovenia in 2017
It’s the end of the season
Bad news for Giggsy
Bloody orange wankers. Hopefully the Dutch and Germans do the business.
Some goal by KDB
A great night for Irish football
Hungary beat Wales. This is very very bad news for us. I still don’t see us finishing above either Switzerland or Denmark and in order for us to get a playoff we would need Wales to qualify automatically. Wales are now 6 points behind Hungary and 3 behind Slovakia and Croatia
Some smashing goals in the Slovakia Azerbaijan game
Insigne scored a cracker for Italy against the Bosniaks but goal of the night was surely Greek lad (Fortunis?) as they lost 3-2 at home to Armenia.
Cracker by insigne . Verratti got a cracker too .
Bale missed a sitter for Wales
Are Eire not pretty much guaranteed a play-off in March 2020 whatever happens?
Eire finished 23rd of the 24 teams in Nations Leagues A and B combined
Ireland were 24th
There are 20 qualification places on offer through the groups
Then in March 2020 there are four different play off pathways based on Nations League divisions A, B, C and D, with four teams in each
Theoretically, the four highest teams in each Nations League division qualify for each, so play-off pathway A would include the four highest teams in Nations League A who don’t qualify via the qualification groups
But all teams who were in Nations League A will likely qualify automatically with perhaps the exceptions of Iceland and Croatia
So if that happens, most or all of the Nations League A play off pathway spots will be allocated to teams in Nations League B
A majority of teams who were in Nations League B will likely qualify automatically
Currently 6 teams from Nations Leagues A and B are outside the qualification places - some of those are still likely to play their way into the qualification spots
I make it that 8 other teams from Nations Leagues A and B combined would have to fail to qualify via the groups for Eire to not get a play off
I could be completely wrong about that but I’m sure I’m correct
