Great shout. Doherty was a super forward in a super half-forward line.
Although somewhat slight he was a wiry buck and had a super vision when in possession.
He graced a few Ulster finals that I was at in Clones where some of the tackling was dubious to say the least. Down themselves weren’t exactly saints and they had their share of lads who could mix it too.
