Pat Shortt

I don’ think anything cold soothe that pain. I suppose his interview with O’Leary was cringe-inducing?

If you want cringe inducing look no further than a ‘new song’ by Euro-vision star John Waters. What was it ‘Build you a train’ or ‘buy us a dream’ or something. Im surprised Alan Sugar didnt go over and deck him one.

Pat is better on the sax than he is at telling jokes. Seems like most of Limerick city has been on the tear since Friday and no letting up yet.

He was originally a sax player playing atmospheric pieces for Jon Kenny as part of his show before they became D’Unbelieveables

Or as he is known as in the circle “Pat”.
Also did some saxophone on the Headgear album which is decent .

Your man Dukes from Headgear did another band for a while around 15-20 years ago. I’m going to say it was something like the Wasted Youth Orchestra? Couple of decent tunes but think it was another fella leading it. They played a show in Dolans and we’re all dressed up in suits etc. as they arrived on stage. The auld termites DJ Tom Fitz was behind me and quipped ‘you can smell the aftershave from here’. Cool story bro, etc. etc.

Correct. He was in another band way back, recorded in Xeric studios or he may have worked there, can’t recall. They Do It With Mirrors. Also done a lot of work with Mr Shortt for live and tv etc.

Yeah I would have known of They Do It With Mirrors alright. Before my time though! Your man Kevin Brew from them is/was the main drama guy for RTÉ Radio.

Was it Woodstar or am I mixing him up?

Different band.

Blindboy’s brother was the singer in Woodstar.

Yeah, Finbar Chambers. Thought Dukes might have been with them although I seem to remember that Kieran Calvert was the guitarist.

No. Dukes wasn’t in that band. Your man Ronan who DJed for years in Costello’s was the bassist from what I recall.

Before my time as well, I wouldn’t have been “allowed out” in town until 95 onwards.

Ronan Considine. Stood with me when I got married. Living in Scotland now after a long time in Sofia.

By God. Wasn’t his sister going out with Brian Costello back then? I used do a few bits and pieces in there back then

Could have been. He has twin sisters a good bit younger than him.
