Paypal

Anyone here familiar with using Paypal?

Reasonably…

Right here it goes…

I’m after opening a Betfred account and went to tranfer money into it from my existing Paypal account which is linked to my Visa card. I typed in the amount i wanted to tranfer into Betfred and they redirected me to Paypal to log in and complete the transaction. I hit the “pay now” button but it was taking about 20secs to confirm the transaction and then sort of said it was taking too long and i was timed out and the money hadn’t transferred over yet. My Betfred balance read €0.00. I went to do the process again but the same thing happened.

At this point i logged out of both accounts for a moment and then logged back into Paypal. It says those two deposits to Betfred were completed. When i log into Betfred my account balance still reads €0.00. Have i lost this money?

I have logged into my Visa account since and there is no record of these transactions but then again maybe it’s too soon.

Yeah could be just a delay issue but it should be fairly instantaneous from betfred’s point of view anyway.

Paypal is decent for tracing anyway so if it didn’t transfer then you shouldn’t have many problems recovering the cash.

I’ve used paypal with the wrong card (a cancelled one) before by mistake and I think the transfer looked like it went through on paypal so maybe it shows transfers there without actually hitting the card.

I must add that when i went to deposit the money to Betfred i clicked make deposit from Paypal wallet. Does this mean i have to have money in my Paypal account? With Powers they don’t ask me this question and i don’t need money physically in Paypal. The money is withdrawn by Paypal from my Visa account and into Paddy Power. Like my Paypal account reads and has always read €0.00.

Dunph DO NOT use paypal for your first deposit to betfred. You won’t get your free €50 sign up bonus if you do!

I didn’t notice that!

I’ll use some other method so, it could be a blessing in disguise, but are you able to explain what has happened with my two transactions? It says in Paypal that the two transactions were completed but nothing has happened in Betfred. Also, i had/have no money in my “paypal wallet”. As far as i was concerned i didn’t have to and the money was always taken from my Visa account directly, well this is what was happening with Powers anyway. I clicked the option make cash deposit from paypal wallet…

Have you used the same email address when registering for betfred that you used for registering with paypal? This is the only way that betfred can match the deposit to your betting account.

Yes. Though the email i wrote down for Betfred has no capital letters ie thedunph@hotmail.com but the email that Paypal has and always prompts me to enter the password for has the first letter as a capital ie Thedunph@hotmail.com

If i were to log in to my email address it is the former i’d use but as i say Paypal keeps prompting me for a password on the latter and it works. I still get emails from Paypal to my email address. I presume it’s the same thing?

I’m stumped so, if you look back at your paypal account history does it show the 2 transactions having been taken from your visa and passed on to betfred? You should be able to verify that it at least did that much. If this happened then you need to get onto betfred customer service I’d say.

Yes looking at the history it says:
Type Name payment status
Transfer from Credit Card Completed
Payment to Betfred Completed

Ah fucking hell.

If this has actually occurred would it not have shown up in my Visa account by now? I still have no money in Betfred. But the thing is i clicked on transfer money from “Paypal wallet” and it was only afterwards i realised i have no money in it.

I can check it out for you want?

Just send me on your credit card no, expiry date and ccv2 number, also your paypal username and password. I’ll have it sorted for you in no time.

Billing address might help you too Runt.

No problems there, it’s just:

The House,
Tournafulla,
Co. Limerick

I have received two receipt emails from Paypal for both transactions to Betfred. What a farce, i get timed out of the first attempt and am told it didn’t work. I do it again and i’m told the same thing. Yet now Paypal acknowledges both of them happened and i’ve no money now in Betfred.

Usually the bookies try and ban you after you’ve won too much. These lads were probably just reading your tips here and pulled the plug.

It’s actually:

The Manor,
Tournafulla,
Co. Limerick

It’s quite plausible that Mac tipped them off as to who was coming…

I’ve lost my right to a free bet to the tune of 50 lids anyway…

Lads, I’ve recently come into some money. Anyone have any tips on how to spend it?
