Hylton will be kicking himself that he didn’t win the third set there. He had three darts to wrap it up but failed and Webster came in and stole it with a splendid 118 finish. Hylton also had two darts to win the set in the previous leg and fluffed it. Webster not playing great. He will have to play better to beat Philip Taylor.

Make no mistake, Webster was in woeful trouble for a while and but for Hyltons wastefulness on the doubles would be on his way home. Hylton has been the more impressive player to me and the scoreboard is deceiving. Granted, Webster has played better since he has got the two set cushion. We will be seeing more of Hylton. I wouldn’t be as sweet on Websters chances of winning the title after seeing him play tonight…
that was a good performance. he must have averaged 97/98 again. that was better than barney but yeah he’ll have to up it a few more notches against taylor. he is hitting his doubles regularly and that has long being his achilles.
actually only 93, that wont do against taylor.
What way will they price the match up i wonder? Presume they will go something like Taylor 1/6, Webster 7/2. I can’t see any bookie going more than say 9/2 on Webster…

taylor is playing well but it would have being unthinkable only 6 months agao that taylor would drop a set to some one like wright.

Lewis will have something to say yet, as might van der Voort - much stronger top half of the draw IMO.
i agree. whitlock lost final 7-3 last year to taylor but it was a lot closer than that and taylor played unreal darts, arguably the best he has ever played in a final (sid might confirm this). whitlock is in blinding form this year, arguably better than the high standard he reached last year and taylor is no where near the form he displayed.
