Double Dutch disaster narrowly averted as Roland Scholten made a good comeback to win his qualifier 4-2 after being 2-0 down. A defeat for Scholten would have rubbed Vinikka into Dutch wounds but he got to preserve his participation by advancing to a meeting with Baxter. A win there would be the jam on his evening.
I’ve taken a bit of 6/1 about Welge beating ‘Jaws’ here.

I’ve always felt that Lloyd is not that much better than a good pub player.
Welge is stone useless.
I’ve had a nibble on Eccles to win 3-2 in the next at 8/1. Eccles has won the last two meetings between the pair and Lewis has not been in good form of late. If Eccles is to win, it’ll prob be by the minimum so worth taking score of 3-2 at 8/1 rather than outright of 7/2.
Lewis is by no mean a World Championship expert either having never got beyond the quarters.
Lloyd going off the boil somewhat here but he’ll still win this due to the uselessness of his opponent…

Welge breaks Lloyds throw in the final set and goes 1-0 up on legs. Lloyd hit 1/200 in-running and he just now punched the board!!! Unbelievable scenes here. :lol: :lol:

Co Stompe was beat 3-1 by Peter Wright in somewhat of an upset in the first match. Stompe was 1/8 before the match.
