Pdc "World Darts Championship" 2013

Starts December 14th, with the draw to be made on Tuesday. I believe.

All but one match will take place in 2012, with the final to be played on January 1st, 2013.

Here’s the draw bracket which I hope will assist any punters. van Gerwen appears to have overtaken Hamilton after the GSOD and now will play in the bottom half, which evens out the draw a little. Could there be a possibility of the draw bracket changing again due to results at this weekend’s tournament? Who knows.

Some familiar names not playing this year.

Last year Top 32, this year OUT:
Mark Dudbridge
Alan Tabern

Last year Pro Tour, this year OUT:
Steve Farmer
John Henderson
Nigel Heydon
Mark Hylton
Jelle Klaasen
Roland Scholten
Dennis Smith

Last year EOOM, this year OUT:
Antonio Alcinas
Jyhan Artut
Mensur Suljovic
Kurt van de Rijck

Last year Youth Tour, this year OUT:
Paul Barham

That could well be a key leg. Winstanley should be 2-0 up in sets, now it’s 1-1. Doubles letting him down again.

The grudge rematch between Newton and Pipe is on I see?

Qlthough that would mean Kim Huybrechts and his mrs exiting early, which I certainly don’t want.

A lot of landmines for Taylor in that quarter. I’d fancy Thornton or Part to take him out should they win through to meet him.

Nicholson and Stompe look the pick of tonight’s matches.

I’d love to see the legendary Swede Magnus Caris cause a shock by beating Robert Thornton. Magnus played in one of the greatest matches ever seen on the Lakeside stage against Bobby George in the 1994 Embassy World Championship semi-final.

Caris played very well against Steve Beaton in the first round last year before the Adonis finally won 3-2. He’s very capable of giving Thornton a scare. It will be interesting to see what form Adrian Lewis is in. He’s been shocking lately.

Can’t wait for this.

Anyone but Taylor or Lewis to win it hopefully.

Thornton and Nicholson both advance 3-0 and meet in the next round.

Co Stompe. :frowning:

Did anyone chance Vos @ 15/2? He looks handy :strokechin:

Vos takes the first set

Vos fallin apart now

Can’t stand Lewis. :guns:

Richie Burnett remonstrating with the crowd as they cheer his missed doubles in this deciding set. He looks very tearful.

Burnett in a James Wade-esque meltdown mode here.

Anyone watching this? I thought Fleety was bad.

The current champion of this tournament scored a 15 with 3 darts last night. Single 5 three times!

Good to hear that the 1995 World Champion progressed to Round 2 nevertheless.

Burnette looks mentally unstable, good to see him progress
