Fry takes about 10-15 mins, not exactly a massive time saver.
As well, it’s usually sinewy meat that’s best cooked slow. Cant imagine the state of a rasher after it coming out. Be like trying to eat an ear.
That’s way more effort than actually just cooking a fry
A rack of beef short ribs marinated overnight. Covered in onions reduced in a hoppy beer. Slathered onions over them and using the liquid to braise the fuckers for 5/6 hours.
Hopefully see these bad boys on the plate for about 6 this evening.
You need to get a bigger slow cooker or a smaller family.
Tuesday is slow cooker day in our house. I put on some sort of a stew or casserole of a Tuesday morning. As i go about my regular tasks of a Tuesday i sometimes pause for a few seconds(like the lads during the angelas on rte1) and think of the stew bubbling away gently in the slow cooker. For some reason these thoughts make me very happy.
I need to upgrade the slow cooker; I have one of those ghastly Morphy Richards ones which dries out/cremates the meat and sauces sticks to etc.
Any recommendations in the €70 to €100 price range?
I’ve 19 good years got out of the digital Crockpot. Easy to clean and cooks well
