Sean McGuire was a great fiddle player. Probably the best and most accomplished traditional irish musician the island has produced. He was shunned by the ceolti ceolti rte headquarter lads because they couldn’t fathom, touch or tolerate such talent, brilliance and individuality- especiallyfeom a nordie…plus he had no time for mediocrity, the neá or whatever it was they were looking for

What’s definition of famous?
I was watching Newsnight earlier as you do and Harry Shearer showed up. It struck me he was a wild looking character altogether but his voices are ones I’ll remember, as for his face he’d be lucky to get served in a pub
