If I was rodding a sewer, Iā€™d be proud to wear a pair of those. Nice floor too.

Nice floor alright, what are they, fur lined flowery wellies?

Ye thatā€™s exactly what they are

Fuck me! You could name off 50 or 60 obscure names of trainers, but a pair of rigger boots are ā€œfur lined flowery welliesā€?! Itā€™s a clichĆ© at this stage, but you honestly couldnā€™t make it up.

If theyā€™re rigger boots theyā€™re not wellies right?? I honestly havenā€™t a clue, The picture was terrible and Iā€™ve never had the need to go shopping for anything like that.
Iā€™ve lived all my life within a couple of miles of various city centres and any construction experience Iā€™ve had was conducted in basic work boots.

you couldnā€™t make it up

a pair of cheap rigger boots at that, you could not actually make it up, any man worth his salt would have a pair of cats with the reinforced steel plate

Catā€™s are for proā€™s like yourself buddy Iā€™m an amateur these days so the co-ops finest will do

they are cheap, they donā€™t even have an air flow system, christ your feet must be in a disgusting state, black toenails fully of toe jam engrained into the side of the toes

Theyā€™re rigger boots alright. The Duke of Wellington must be rolling in his grave.

Iā€™ve always insisted on having a top quality pair of rigger boots as part of the PPE kit on any job Iā€™ve ever worked on. They have to have steel toe caps and steel mid-soles, breathable liner, and be lightweight. My feet are as fresh as the day I got them.

Iā€™d say @Masseyā€™s had proper gear in his time too. If heā€™s talking about working with Pakistanis down the jubilee line, Iā€™d only be trotting along behind him.

Iā€™ve worked on a few tunnelling jobs, and the guys on the TBM were the hardest working men I have ever seen in my life.

Tunnel tigers they used to call us,it was embarrassing really, hard work but good money, not much harder than labouring on the farm only much much hotter,I seen a programme on rte a while back about lads on the crossrail holy fuck they were goin home cleaner than they went in
