Two very workman like midfields today ⌠Utdâs plan will be to put major pressure on Liverpoolâs full-backs and try force everything into a congested middle. Henderson is a limited player but he is very good at spreading it wide quickly which Liverpool rely on and getting quick ball to Mane/Salah â Can/Milner/Ox far more pedestrian on this front but are more robust and shows how Klopp thinks this game is going to go - a damp 1-1 draw. Mane and Sanchez to score.
Rashford did brilliantly there and it was a smashing finish. But Liverpoolâs defending was chronic from a goal kick. Lovren outmuscled by Lukaku for the initial header but Alexander-Arnold takes most of the blame for letting Rashford get inside him twice. Terrible lack of awareness and brutal positioning. Van Dijk was also a bit deep and playing Rashford onside from the initial flick on.
