Premier League 2021-2022 (the Footix thread)

That United eleven is shocking. Leeds should walk this

Iā€™d say Palace instead of Watford. Norwich will probably go down too. Hard to pick a 3rd team. Wolves do look a bit light on numbers and less ambitious than they had been in the transfer market. Iā€™d still expect them to survive though. A lot of people saying Newcastle and criticising Steve Bruce who has kept them up comfortably the past 2 seasons.

Newcastle will be grand as long as ASM and Wilson stay fit for most of the season

Klopp must be after spending the transfer budget on contacts/laser eye surgery.

Abu Dhabi City struggling against Tottenham Hotspurā€™s in front of fans

City are finished

City had a slow start last year. Their financial advantage really kicks in when the fixtures pile up and the billion pound squad are able to rotate

City would be better off trying to buy Son

Not a great weekend for Champions in Blue.

The great Brian Kerr reckoned todayā€™s game had been played with good sportsmanship, so much so that he couldnā€™t recall having seen either trainer in the pitch

Not a good weekend for teams in sky blue playing robotic possession football.

What was the score?

Lukaku: ā€œItaly is tactically and technically a better league but here in England, itā€™s all about the intensity. Thatā€™s what makes the difference, but itā€™s no problem for me because Iā€™ve been here for eight years and I know what itā€™s all about.

The Footix wonā€™t like that.

Itā€™s a bit like the difference between the Galway football team and Dublin of the last decade.

Serie A is for fancy dans, the Premier League is for men.

Thatā€™s pretty much itā€¦

'Tis easy look technically good at walking pace.

The Little Englanders ought to know they canā€™t even look good technically at walking pace. They ought to have learned that chasing shadows at Wembley last month.

Sigh.
