Oil hit $68 dollars a barrel today, about 3 months after we were told we’d never see $100/barrell again
no sign of this being reflected at the pumps as quickly as it was being reflected when the price was going up.
Lenihan did well to take advantage of this fall in price with his increase in the budget. Customers won’t notice the tax hike too much now because it’s being balanced off by the price of oil going down. When oil does back up again in a few months time it’s the oil companies who’ll get the blame and not the government
Lads,
The best place I can see around Dublin for feul is the Maxol Station in Harolds Cross. 1.18 before the budget and now it’s 1.19! My tank is full otherwise I would be straight down there.
Very small station and very difficult to get in and out of along a busy road. That’s the only downside.

Theres a Texaco on the N4 outbound about 500 yards past the turn off for Liffey Valley thats still at 118.9 I think. Diesel is 116.9 as well. Cheapest I’ve seen.

I actually got it at there at 1.14 on the day of the budget. It’s the closest petrol station to me so it’s quite handy
Yes, bu the price per barrel has nearly halfed and since the budget 8c most stations have added one or two cents.
We won’t be seeing oil above $100 all that much for the next two years, one reason to be thankful for the recession. Looks like China will be dragged into recession now too because there is no-one to buy the crap they produce, think Chinese demand was seen as the biggest reason for the price hitting $140+.
Is that beside the Foxhunter pub before turn-off for Lucan? Heading out that direction this evening so may stop off.
Yep thats the one
Applegreen doing a thing today where they announce on bookface different filling stations each hour and they sell fuel for 24 cent for that hour.
Breaking the 2 euro barrier.
I got Diesel for below 1.70 yesterday. It was too good to last
Ill have to update my spread sheet on cost to charge by phev at work/home/public charges vs petrol prices.
Cant beat a good spread sheet
@Raylan outraged by taxes being put back to what they were on fossil fuels yet the same
@Raylan choosing to drive the 1.5km to the local shop every time

You’ll need to show your workings for either/both of those statements
I’d say there isn’t much diesel in that diesel
