Sheâs just an old lady. I donât think she meddles much in the affairs of state, however much people would like to blame her for everything from ballymurphy to Iraq. Sheâs a ribbon cutter. Can you imagine for a second how relentlessly dull most of her life must have been. Grinding tedium. Sheâs worn it fairly well. I doubt sheâs much different in protecting her weird children to any other mother.

I really donât see what all the fuss is here, he should have just said nothing in the interview rather than digging a hole for himself. The allegations are he had sex with a 17 year old girl. He wasnât married, it was consensual & she was overage.
