I wish to take young Ungo Bungo to see some Oirish soccer when the great league starts back up.
I am currently living in the greater Dublin area. Should I take my young boy to the rovers at tallaght or Dundalk.
I understand a pie and pint is a tradition at soccer games. What are the facilities like at these stadiums? I will be driving so I will not be drinking pints and would probably just have a nice cup of tea.
@Ungo_Bungo
Rovers 100%
Dundalk are probably closer to me but its no place to bring a kid to a game really
West Stand in Tallaght is a fantastic set up on match night with a lot of young families in attendance, bad laguage, etc is seriously frowned upon and the football is of a decent standard
only problem tallaght can be devoid of athmosphere at times and in the East Stand ( where i wouldnt bring a child BTW) the crowd are a bit far from the pitch
Tallaght Stadium has a bit of an artificial feel to it but the facilities are excellent with ample parking
Oriel Park is a horrible ground - its the most decrepid in the league - United Park in Drogheda is better
maybe on a sunny night you could sit there on the far side and it would be ok
best footballing side are Bohs - they play beautiful stuff but the ground is no place for a child and very hard to get to
I’m assuming was an oversight to omit St Pats from your list?
If you want a proper football experience for young Ungo Bungo then a night on the Camac terrace is your call.
Full of auld lads screaming abuse at assistant refs for 90 mins…
In fairness Pats play decent football, but the ground is not a great standard, on the plus side a decent chip van is there to serve your food needs
Whatever ground you go to hope you enjoy
Tallaght Stadium for one
that walk from Drimnagh Luas thru those flats to that absolute shithole of a ground is dangerous on the way back at nite when its dark you couldnt do it
Ill give Inchicore one thing, its like dalymount in that its a proper football ground but in terms of taking a kid it would be just shit
