Ball over the top bumps the defender away, has a quick look and lifts the ball over the keeper from 35 yards with his weaker foot.
A goal out of nothing from the brilliant Swede, there’s not many players who can turn an aimless ball down the pitch into a piece of footballing genius. Zlatan is one of them.
There was some okay goals there.
The Belgian, Neymar or Lopez for me.
I love a good bicycle goal and the Lopez one was a cracker.
The chicks goal was actually a savage strike but the comical defending in the lead up took away from it.

Defender hoofs the ball up field, hits off opponent, big nose draws a boot on it and it goes in.
It was alright. A good strike from where he was. Not much build up to it and definately not the best goal of the year though.
I’d say Zlatan himself scored better goals last year.
I wouldn’t expect you to understand the finer intricacies Runt. Zlatan makes a hoof up the pitch his own, he then has the awareness to look up and spot the keeper off his line, the execution on his shot is perfection, lifting it over the keeper from 35 yards out, with his weaker foot while the ball bouncing awkwardly. He even managed to hold a defender off too. No other player would have scored a goal out of that situation, nevermind one so spectacular.
Considering the quality of the defending, Heather O’Reilly’s goal deserves a mention.
Rooney’s was a cracker, its an awful pity he celebrates like an eejit.

I watched that Gold Cup Final live one Saturday night / Sunday morning at 2am in the summer because I’m weird and sad and that Dos Santos goal had me up out of the seat applauding.
