Where were you on the 11/10/20 when Nadal became proved himself as the ?
Did he win another Mickey Mouse clay tournament?
He did, he beat a lad only out of the bed after coronavirus, fair play to him
The English lad isnāt around. You donāt have to pretend you like tennis anymore
My word
20/60.
Nadal wins one in every three slams he plays in.
Vamos
Is Nadal the lad who was doping ?
Thatās Federer.
Lots of triggered posters emerging here, not able to handle what has been inevitable for years.
What Nadal has achieved has been remarkable, the adversity with injuries and everything and here he is, the history maker, the GOAT beyond all doubt now and not finished yet.
The Medvedev final last year was the key one.
100 wins to 2 defeats in Roland Garros is an incredible record which would hold up against any individual achievement in world sport whether lads donāt like Nadal or are just taking a contrarian stance to try and irk @Fulvio_From_Aughnacloy.
Utter dominance over a 15 year plus spell.
Heās the GOAT.
Everything has been stacked against Nadal from the start and there was today, standing upright, lifting RG no 3.
The tour discriminates against clay courters - no problems
The injuries - no problem
Hard work, perseverance, commitment, discipline but the talent is oozing out of him. Some of the commentary that comes his way is patronising - he is an absolute phenomenon talent wise. The points he was hitting today were stunning.
Hands down the best performance Iāve ever seen from a tennis player today.
1st player to win 4 slams without dropping a set.
Vamos
Grand Slam Head to Head
Nadal 10-4 Federer
Nadal 10-6 Djokovic
Itās an incredible achievement to win 13 French Opens and it sounded like was simply awesome today. I didnāt get to see it. Will watch highlights later.
The poor mouth doesnāt really apply for this year though, whatever about any other adversity he has overcome in the past. Things couldnāt have stacked up better for Nadal this year. Nadal skipped the US Open and the US hardcourt season and was well rested up. Donāt think too many other players skipped the US Open. The turnaround time between US Open and French was just punishing as we saw with both Zverev and Theim succumbing to illness and exhaustion.
Thiem and Djokovic probably the only two players that could have beaten Nadal. Thiem succumbed to exhaustion as much as anything against Schwartzmann.
Djokovic is just an idiot. He pretty much brought the coronavirus on himself, his fuck acting then at the US Open and acting the maggot again in both quarter final and semi final this week. And his boorish entourage.
Nadal would probably still have beaten both of them on clay anyway all things equal.
The Italian teenager Sinner gave Nadal his toughest match of the tournament and looks a serious prospect.
Cooler temperatures, slower courts, slower balls, rustiness. The odds were against Nadal in terms of what they would be normally. He had two games on clay before RG this year. He also got the nasty side of draw but things worked out well with Thiem succumbing - I think Sinner gave him a tougher game on clay than Zverev would have.
Djokovic had a very handy run to the QF and played against Tsitsipas who was in great form. He was cruising to a straight sets victory in that game but got a bit sloppy, the same happened Nadal but he was able to navigate a final set tie break with Schwartzman whereas Djokovic was then drawn into a five setter.
I donāt think the long semi final was much of an issue for Djokovic today, he didnāt seem flat, he just seemed lost in how to deal with Nadal. Nadal has so much variety to his game on clay that Djokovic just did not know what to expect and his defence was as good as anything Iāve seen from his prime years (pre 2015). Nadal is actually a better offensive player now than he was in those years, itās just his physical levels have declined a good bit.
