Random Hurling Team of the 90''s as Selected by Nobodies

Hurling Team of the 1990s:

  1. Damien Fitzhenry (Wexford)
  2. Brian Corcoran (Cork)
  3. Brian Lohan (Clare)
  4. Martin Hanamy (Offaly)
  5. Brian Whelahan (Offaly)
  6. Seánie McMahon (Clare)
  7. Liam Dunne (Wexford)
  8. Ciarán Carey (Limerick)
  9. Michael Coleman (Galway)
  10. Martin Storey (Wexford)
  11. Gary Kirby (Limerick)
  12. Jamesie O’Connor (Clare)
  13. Michael Cleary (Tipperary)
  14. DJ Carey (Kilkenny)
  15. Johnny Dooley (Offaly)

Joe Dooley has been blackguarded.

Storey to Centre Fwd, drop Kirby for Joe Dooley.

Replace Cleary with Joe Deane.

Wouldn’t argue much with that.

I doubt anyone would argue with either of those moves.

Joe deane was not one of the greatest players of that period. He was much better in 00s.

It was a poor decade for hurling in fairness

No need for Kirby. Plenty of free takers in the side without him.

Davy fitz robbed

Delighted.

Stephen MacNamara at it again was he?

The Wexicans living on past glories. Sad to see.

Fitzhenry is a respectable choice but Storey wouldn’t have got my vote

any room for Charlie Carter?

Seanie McGrath before Joe Deane

Tony Browne surely?

Yeah, no obvious ones to crib about. Michael Coleman at midfield caught my eye and I started to think of the midfielders in the 90’s and to be honest, struggled to think of a replacement.
Johnny Pilkington or Larry O’Gorman maybe.

Edit: Tony Browne as Batigol said above

Brian Corcoran only really played at corner in 92, didn’t he? I think that was his only year there anyway, but what a year.

Ah no, Seanie couldn’t sit in that company

Drop Coleman for him so.

Seanie was a magic hurler. Just lacked a bit of size

Think he played there against us in the league final and subsequent replays in 1993.
