Rangers v Celtic, Thursday 3pm, Sky Sports

What was his other goal?

I was there also :green_heart:

Byrne scored in a 1-3 ‘home’ defeat earlier that season at Hampden. It was a cracker of a goal as well to level it up at 1-1. 1.05 in.

I got into it living there. I got a room to rent off a lamppost and about my second night in Glasgow, your man said he had a spare ticket to Ibrox to watch a European game. Being unaware of the level of vitriol I went along for a look. The huns won 1-0. I didn’t want them to win, but it was only yanited levels of dislike. 6 months in Glasgow, id found my tribe and I absolutely hated the cunts despite by then living with an ex RUC Hun (who remains one of my great friends), courtesy again of a lamppost.
Anyhow I was chatting away to the lad I went with, oblivious to the accent being an issue. The whole end then started singing billy boys. Some oul cunt next to me on my right leered at me and said “are ye no joining in son?”
I realised after a few months in (one of the Greatest cities in the world) Glasgow, that I was lucky they won and to get out unscathed.
After old firm games the ruc lad and I would hook up, and go drinking. I could bring him into bairds and hoops and after a few pints, tell whoever we were chatting to he was a Hun, and it just led to good natured stuff. He told me, which I knew anyway, that he was sorry he couldn’t ever bring me to a rangers pub because they were nasty bastards and if be lucky to get out alive. This wasn’t long after Mark Scott.
I went to games all over, and actually found the Scottish football way more entertaining, largely because bombscare defending meant anything could happen.
I still feel homesick for Glasgow.

Strange one, in that around the same time, the bunnet fucked off back to Canada with 30 or 60 million in his arse pocket.

He was early 50s when he bought Celtic, in my head i thought he was in his 70s

He always looked 70.

Incorrect. RTE were regularly showing SPL games 2002/2003 season.

Give us a full list of games they showed live.

It must have just been a deal for occasional Celtic games, as @Rocko said. I recall being in some shithole pub in Ranelagh (which had snooker tables) for a pre Christmas derby, I watched that late season Dundee game at home. I remember (possibly incorrectly) it was apparent that the title could come down to goal difference by this stage - was it a rearranged game…possibly second or third last of season? I think Celtic looked like really running up the score but Dundee scored relatively late on & it oddly enough seemed significant at the time when it looked like being 7-0 or 8-0 at one stage. I’m certain RTÉ also had the final day - I had one of those weekend accountancy exam block release classes on the Sunday in Griffith College & a crowd of us went across to The Portobello to watch it.

Some unsettling rumours swirling around south Dublin Bay North about Malahide CSC congregating in St Sylvester’s GGA clubhouse to watch the game later. No comment from @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy yet.

Its the equivalent of a sevco supporters club meeting in an orange lodge

They showed at least 12 games if not more. All the old firm. Celtic at home to Dundee. Celtic away to Kilmarnock, Aberdeen (2-0 win for Aberdeen), Hibs, Dundee United off the top of my head.

RTE had the final day, correct.

Could you please name the dates and times of these fixtures?

Celtic played Aberdeen three times that season. There were 4-0 and 7-0 wins for Celtic and a 1-1 draw.

That doesn’t make the rest of your information seem trustworthy.

I remember watching a Patrick’s Thistle v Celtic game on RTÉ in the 2002-03 season.

They showed games for a season or two around Seville.

I also remember TG4 showing a rake of Celtic European games around them season 02/03 and 03/04 mostly UEFA cup from memory

I attended a Liverpool versus Luton game in that period as a young child. I was a Celtic and Liverpool fan. My dad brought me into the players/sponsors lounge. He asked Steve Nicol if he could get in a photo with me. I had a Celtic/Ireland scarf on. Nicol was not pleased with my attire. From that day my interest in Liverpool tailed off.

Yeah I’m fairly sure TG4 televised the Celtic victory against Barcelona in the 2004 UEFA Cup.
