Rangers v Celtic, Thursday 3pm, Sky Sports

Mate I literally gave you the results of the three games Celtic played against Aberdeen in 2002/03.

There was no 2-0 victory for Aberdeen as you claimed.

It was 22 years ago. I must be wrong on the score but RTE definetely showed Celtic away to Aberdeen. Showed a lot more than the 4 old firms games as you stated.

Expectation is the huns will keep Sterling at centre back with Propper and play Yilmaz at right back to cover for Tavernier.

No matter what they do, they’ll have a weak back 4. They will really need to stop our midfield and wingers getting through them.

You’d always be wary of sevco at Ibrox.
We should have enough chances to win, but they’ll have a few too.

Apart from Taylor, I’m happy with that. Valle, Engels and Idah ready when needed

Celtic as predicted in my overly long, thread opener, scene setting post yesterday.

Think the huns have gone for the same front six as the final & I expect they’ll look to replicate that disrupting/pressing game. Bajrami sitting on McGregor, Diomande on Hatate & Raskin on Bernardo. Diomande jumping on Taylor & Raskin on Johnston if they “invert” to get possession. I’m sure Rodgers & his coaching team will have looked at this in detail over the past 2 weeks & Celtic will surely have a few different a ways of building up to give the huns something else to think about. Like the recent final, they’ll have the odd crunching tackle or dispossession but Celtic need to have the composure to play through that.

Their back four is about as makeshift as they can get so it’ll be about trying to stop Celtic at source. If Celtic have the ability to play through that press then all bets are off…

I’ll probably regret this but Igamame looks fairly ponderous to me.

Question. Anyone any idea of the net spend on both squads?

Kris Boyd having a full scale meltdown before the Old Firm.

I just hope the Celtic players aren’t sucked into letting their focus drop a little bit because of the hun absentees. They’ll still be driven on by a full stadium of orange bastards so Celtic need to be on it. It’s like me with my spreadsheets - it’s when you think you have everything mastered, you make those basic vlookup mistakes. You need to be laser focused.

Surely a part of you wants Rangers to win so they think they’ve some kind of chance with league ??

huh?

Nah, some derby defeats are easier to take than others. There was a 3-0 loss at Ibrox at the end of Ange’s second season when the league was already decided & he rotated the squad, for example. But I don’t think you ever want to lose to them & especially not when the league isn’t secured (despite the large lead). Now there’s a potential scenario where a win for them gives Clement another stay of execution & heralds the latest false dawn without any solid foundations under it…but I’d prefer to keep beating & demoralising them.

Rodgers says that Engels wasn’t well this morning which made it easier to select Bernardo, but Engels is available to come on.

Let’s go bhoys :shamrock: :four_leaf_clover:

What are Rangers fans singing to the tune of “The Fields of Athenry” there?
