RAVENOUS (Part 1)

New potato, butter and salt, skins n’all. I’d ate them on their own. Nearly that time of the year again.

Sweet potatoes are good with pork.

They are good with, and good for, nothing.

Apparently there are hundreds of varieties of potato way nicer than the stuff we eat but they just don’t grow as easily or as big or whatever as the ones we get (same with bananas).

I’d say they know their spuds in Peru.

You must be doing it wrong.

They are good for vitamins.

Also, sweet potatoes are not potatoes.
Neither are yams.

What’s a yam like? I’ve never had one I don’t think. I know they eat them for thanksgiving in the states going by the TV, are they similar to a sweet potato

The yams the yanks eat at Thanksgiving are not yams. They’re sweet potatoes that they call yams. A proper yam is much closer in flavor to a potato.

Same as strawberries. Over six hundred varieties. Ones you see in shops are ones that don’t bruise as easily.

Homemade rhubarb and custard, made by my eldest using the custard left over from the Portuguese tarts, gorgeous

I love custard. Rhubarb is one if those ones that taste disgusting and lovely in the same mouthful, a couple of times.

Thanks for the “induction” . Ah just trying to vary up the meals a bit seeing as we are at home 24/7. The little one is mad to try new recipes so I let her belt away.

Just roasted a chunk of beef. Add crusty bap, mushrooms, & cambert et voila

Did you find that in a rat trap?

I’m a well done guy, but christ art you’d break a tooth on that

Slow cooked it first then roasted for 30 mins. Still soft enough to cut with a spoon

Crispy sweet potato fries are onreale. Outside of that, yeah give me a normal shpud.

Wouldn’t be a big fan of peas normally, but these were just picked fresh from the garden and are delicious.
