The wine looks a bit shit though. Next time maybe put a bit more effort in there, poor knowledge of wine is a dead giveaway to the wealthy. I would hate to think of her concluding you are a mere peasant.
A cooked dish for a change. An excellent way to cook fresh cod. 2 min in a hot skillet with oil and butter, turn over for 15 seconds and then put in a very hot oven for 3 minutes. It’s outstanding, reminiscent of the best battered cod. Mash is home grown, white potatoes, kale and scallions. It was a bit dry so served a spoonful of mild salsa on the side which really enhanced the fish.
Cod wouldn’t exactly be an indigenous species where you are would it?
No mate. Long line caught in Iceland, on ice at catch and delivered on ice to my local Whole Foods. Delicious.

Korean food is nice but I probably haven’t eaten as much of it as other Asian cuisines, probably because it often costs 2 or 3 times the price it would in Korea itself.

I can’t remember the name of it. It was some sort of stew with tofu and thinly sliced pork and vegetables and mushrooms. It’s said medium spicy so I asked them to spice it up a bit so there was a good lash of chilli paste in it too. It was delicious. Had char siu made from pork belly to start, also delicious but I would have liked the fat rendered down a bit more.
Why were you having a Chinese starter in a Korean restaurant mate?
