Im not going to comment on McGrath because there is no comparison. Im not saying Hyppia was always as bad as he is now, obviously a few years a go he was able to a decent job, never to the level of McGrath, but its his performances of today that are the reason I put him on here.

To reitterate my point once again:
Hyypia gets a lot of stick in the media due to his lack of pace. Flano went as far as to write him off as a truly awful player. Pace is surely important for a defender but not the be-all-and-end-all. This point has been proven by Paul McGrath. So much of defending is about being able to read the game, which Hyypia is superb at.
Can I also remind Flano that Hyypia was part of a defence that kept 29 clean sheets last year? What do you have to say about that?
