But a for a career threatening injury on St. Stephens Day 1991 I would have been playing top flight football in 1992/93, a host of top clubs were interested. I had without doubt the best left foot outside the top flight. Admittedly I’m past it now though.

Stand up and let me see your ridiculous face.

I hope this isnt some sort of attempt to defend Sami Hyypia. The bloke has got to the stage where he’ll need to be wheeled onto the pitch in a wheelchair
no way, he’s a talisman

All I’ve got to do is look at him. Any honest, non biased person can see he is past it. David Pleat summed him up brialliantly when actually he was trying to praise him. His words were to the effect that he stands still to hold the line. True, he does stand still but thats because his legs are tired ;D
Jean-Alain Boumsong. Terrible
I suppose you say that Paul McGrath was past it in the World Cup in 1994?
Pace isnt the be-all-and-end-all for defenders. I am not trying to compare Hyypia to one of the greatest defenders ever that was McGrath was but I am saying that he is never a truly awful player and still has a lot to give
Anyway the day I listen to the kerb crawler that is David Pleat is the day I stop watching the beautiful game

I wasnt agreeing with Pleat(and never would). He praised him for something which I believe is a flaw. Standing still is never a good thing in a football match

- Hyypia doesn’t stand still
- McGrath didnt venture outside the penalty area against Italy in 1994 and gave a performance so good that the great Roberto Baggio immediately put him in his grreatest team of all time
- When your’e arguing your point, agrue it and don’t give unfounded, unsupported rubbish
Danny Mills
Antoin Sibierski - What an absolute donkey, i know he scored last night but surely Newcastle should be aiming higher than that pile of shite
Two good calls there.

How can you support your views? I’ve built my opinion based on what I see. Im not the only person who can see what is blatantly obvious.
And wtf does McGrath have to do with this?
Sure Mc Grath is a fookin alco.
Anyone see him on Prime Time when UTD was getting sold to Glazer, he kept emabarrassing himself by repeating the phrase “…he’s only coming in to balance the books” or should this belong in the comedy thread

You have a problem with Hyypia going on ‘what you see’
What you see seems to be based on his lack of pace or ‘inability to move’
I am comparing this criteria with a great defender who also could not move
My point is if you slate Hyppia then you should also slate McGrath
Therefore what you see and, hence, your agrument is flawed
