Sir Anthony âBeanzâ OâReilly will be delighted that a Jesuit has got it. Unbelieveable scenes at Belvedere College as I passed it earlier this eevning and Iâm sure there were equally unbelieveable scenes at Clongowes and Gonzaga.
While I know balbec would have loved the papacy to return to Poland Iâm sure heâll be equally happy at the election of the first ever Pope from the order that runs his beloved Gonzaga.

Absolutely Sid, itâs a great night for the School.
While Ouellet, Scherer and Scola have polled well so far they wonât have enough backing and theyâll hit a metaphorical brick wall in their support, opening the way for others. Itâll come down to a race betwen a European compromise candidate and a compromise candidate from the Americas. As I have stated already the American candidate will be either OâMalley or Bergoglio.
Christoph Schonborn of Vienna is said to have made an extremely good schon in this morningâs session and I can imagine him being put forward as the European compromise candidate as I write.
Itâll be interesting to see who the runner(s) up was. I believe OâMalley may have been the closest rival to Bergoglio as the compromise candidate from the Americas judging by the Jesuitâs adoption of the name Francis. OâMalley is a Franciscan and this may well have been the bargaining chip he demanded in return for him standing aside to let Bergoglio win.
Fran is in the Vatican
An Argentine with a grand plan
People were surprised he ran
Near the end of his natural lifespan
Heâs no spring chicken, no Peter Pan
Heâs old enough to be your gran
It wonât matter to the ku klux klan
Or in Japan, Iran or Kazakhstan
On grandeur there will be a ban
Heâll be driven around in a Hiace van
He wonât be reading the Koran
Wonât try to make firends in Pakistan
He wonât parade round Manhattan
That wonât please the yanks like Flan
But Franâs a real American
Just like Hulk Hogan
Heâs a fighter like Roberto Duran
When he can take No Mas he appoint a new man
Heâs jumping from the fire into the frying pan
But if anyone can, Pope Fran can

The founder of the Jesuits was St Francis Xavier.
He stole all of Ignatius Loyolaâs ideas. Like Moe stole the recipe for the Flaming Homer and called it the Flaming Moe.
Not only is he a J but I also discovered this morning that he collaborated with the fascists in the military junta in the 70s. Not sure my day can get any better after hearing that:)
Did Jesus Christ actually exist? As in was he a preacher/messiah in the Holy Land? Regardless of what stories are in the Bible, are they loosely based on a real person?

I take it Saint Peter was a real person?
No one knows⌠all writings of him come from other people, he left no paper trail. There are also no Roman records of the man or his execution.
Is it still possible to buy those âI LIKE THE POPE, THE POPE SMOKES DOPEâ t-shirts with the pic of JPII smoking a joint on them that people used wear to FĂŠile back in the early 90s?
