Reeling in the years

They didn’t go as deep this year at all due to the Olympics. They’d usually make it well into the 00’s but only 1981 this summer. I find the 60’s are overdone on RTÉ because they’re always the starting point. It only starts to become interesting from the late 70’s onwards.

You wouldn’t get as many moving statues these days

RTE are going to half hour 6.1 from next week. Feels earlier than usual.

Music in today’s episode was top class. First time watching one in years.

I’d say it’s just for the Easter break, sure they only managed a whole 6 minutes today for the one o clock news on RTE1.

My sister recently reminded us that I told my mother that I had seen it move in Ballinspittle a few times
They were great days, chipper vans and all with the cheap red sauce poured all over the chips

We went down to Cappoquin another night I think, somewhere in west Waterford anyway

Who’s to say you were wrong?

Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have yet believed.

twas a bit coincendential they stopped moving once the summer was over and the kids went back to school!

I can remember being in school and going into the church beside us to watch the statues, not sure if that was before or after summer.

People on my road in Wexford to this day still reference one of the neighbours in her strong Wexford town accent roaring…she’s movin’ ain’t she! Maybe it was a you had to be there moment. Hundreds gathered up in Rocklands on the outskirts of the town staring intently at the statue.
