Hopefully Kenny is brave enough to continue to start him, Ferguson and Obafemi for Monday night and the forthcoming campaign. Smallbones creativity makes a huge difference in the final 3rd.

I know this comes across as aftertiming & I can be accused of bias, as I think Spock is a ham. But even at 2-0 & with Latvia being hapless & harmless, I was thinking we would get destroyed by any half competent team if we played that formation & personnel. There was some very nice play by us in the first 20-25 minutes but we were totally open without the ball. Two strikers, two wing backs bombing on & two number eights in Smallbone & Browne playing high up too. It was only Molumby & the back three showing any defensive discipline. I can see how scoring a load of goals & hammering these would be good for morale but it’s hardly any kind of preparation for France. You’ll need another centre midfielder in there against them at the expense of an attacker. I don’t think O’Dowda has any defensive instincts either. Not sure why Bazunu has lost his place, as he’s been consistently good for Ireland.
