Republic of Ireland v Portugal - 11/11/2021

@mickee321 do Wanderers and Lansdowne FC have separate clubhouses within the grounds or is it all the one?

I was in the Lansdowne clubhouse before the Moldovan game in 2017 picking up complimentary match tickets but is the Wanderers one separate?

Well, let me put it this way. If her parents or supervising adult weren’t involved in this, they were grossly negligent. It’s one or the other.
She’s already been economical with the truth on the £2500 fine.

Would Waderers & Lansdowne sell drink to the soccer crowd ??

The 11 year old?

I don’t know. I’ve never been to an Eire soccer match. I would have thought though that the Eire soccer clientele is not the kind of crowd that Wanderers or Lansdowne would be courting.

Did David tweed play there?

that’s a great question
I definitely saw Wanderers Football Club inscribed over the door.
you see that quiet a bit in rugby, In Musgrave Park, does the clubhouse belong to Dolphin Rugby Football Club or Sunday’s Well Rugby Football Club?
Similarly is Donnybrook home to Bective Rangers Football Club or Old Wesley Rugby Football Club?

@ChairmanDan

Outstanding. I felt like I was right there with you and yet I prob was above your cushioned seats in the FAISTAFF seats. It was a momentous occasion and yes your eye is always grabbed to the great one but we acquitted ourselves manfully

They have one each at either corner of the grounds.

I think wanderers moved their club and clubhouse down to Merrion Road. They have a fine grounds there with a nice clubhouse and they were planning to build a huge new one there on a piece of ground thay must be pound for pound as valuable as anywhere in the country.

Landsdowne clubhouse is next to the 4g at the back of the stand

Both. And both have their own clubhouses at either end of the pitch

I’ve had several work/sports day/bbqs in wanderers - it’s prime real estate and actually surprised it’s still going

They had massive plans to redevelop the clú house. I’d say they haveno intention of selling the land. Doubt they need the cash

Correct. Wanderers RFC hire out their grounds for corporate functions. I’ve walked in on a game of giant connect 4.

Would ye bring along yere own egg and spoon to the sports days?

Sounds like Wanderers had a clubhouse in the old Lansdowne, but got shafted during the 2007 redevelopment.

I brought me own flute to the three legged race

I’d say there were no shortage of entrants for the sack race anyway

It wasn’t really a clubhouse but they had a bar of sorts. It was a little cottage type yoke at the corner of the pitch. They certainly felt they got shafted but they held the IRFU to ransom to an extent and delayed the redevelopment with injunctions etc.

They got well compensated for the loss of it anyway but I think they were looking for guaranteed tickets for evermore maybe 1000 tickets for every event or something which was a bit much. It wasn’t the case either they were going to be there forever… There was an end date to their being in LR so IRFU could have sat it out and gave them nothing but it was 20 years away their lease was up I think so obviously didn’t want to wait that long
