He has played him there before. Worth remembering he dropped Oma after his outstanding cameo v Portugal when he replaced O’Shea early in for the Azerbaijan match and only recalled him out of necessity v Serbia as Coleman was out.
The Irish football journalists that had access to the captain’s run in Lansdowne earlier this evening reported that Omobamidele wasn’t training. He’s surely doubtful now.

I saw on the examiner he’s definitely ruled out. Will be either Coleman and Doherty full back and Nathan Collins in the middle or more likely Doherty and McClean on the sides and Coleman in the middle as big Dan says. Crazy that there is any buzz at all about this game. We’re out ffs 
. Must be the Ronaldo factor. When was the last home game when we had already been ruled out of qualifying? Can’t remember one off hand.

Probably the 3-1 win of Kazakhstan in 2013. Final game of the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign which had gone down with a whimper after 2 defeats in a week against Sweden and Austria.

My brother in law is bringing the family one of whom is Ronaldo mad. Probably wouldn’t have gone if it was anyone else is the sad thing.
