Retiring GAA Stars tribute thread - May cause brain/neck damage

Falling apart?

They’re old.

Gallagher, McGee, Kavanagh, McFadden and Toye are all well in their 30s.

Their time has come, a few of these lads were shot a few years ago but that’s what happens when you play in a genuinely competitive province and have to hit the ground running from May every year.

Kerry have done very well to keep the likes of Marc O’Se and O’Mahony playing into their mid 30s, then again they know they can have them put their feet up and mind themselves until late July/August every year as there’s nothing in Munster.

I’d say they are content with the cost of their sacrifice though. No McGuinness, no party.

Ah ya no doubt. They all seem to have alot of back and pelvic issues though

All seem pretty dehabilitating inuuries though. Chronic problems, not just sick of it.

What?

Apart from Gallagher and Lacey, there have not been any real injuries in this Donegal side the past few years.

Their legs have just gone and it’s not that big a surprise given the age profile of the retirees.

You’re spoofing, again.

McGee, Lacey, Gallagher, O’ Connor all had serious back issues over past 2-3 years anyway, thats at least 4.

Bullshit.

McGee has not missed much football over the past few years.

O’Connor did his cruciate.

Lacey had hamstring issues.

All? Other than Gallagher there’s be no one going due to injury.

Lacey has issues but he’s still playing and that more down to the years on his clock and being constantly targeted that anything McGuinness did with them.

O’Connor did his cruciate twice. Not a back issue.

Kev caught out bullshitting yet again.

An ACL can very much be a back issue in its origin. As can hamstring issues.

And of course ACL’s and hamstring injuries more often than not come from too much loading, poor stability training, poor mechanics and running.

So your earlier post is unqualified speculation?

No, i remember all of them talking about back issues at one time or another or being reported out.
And Lacey told me himself of his issues
The bottom line is they are crocked as a unit.

They’ve never said that.

You’ve never even met or spoken to Karl Lacey in your life.

The bottom line is you are a shameless spoofer.

I have. He came to a conference and workshop i hosted last year. We are friends on social media. We work in same industry blah blah blah. Its not that big a deal, he is just a bloke. And he wouldn’t be talking out of school either.

Just putting the training done (which brought great success) and the injuries now. Too many cooincidences.

Players retiring from IC in their 30’s…whatever next?

Its the reasons they are citing. They only play 6 games for 6 months some of them, they should be in incredible nick. You never hear of boxers pulling hamstrings or doing ACL’s in non-contact siutaions. Yet they train more and play less.

You just made that up.

The only fact here that only one of the 5 retirees (all in their 30s) is doing so due to injury flies in the face of the absolute nonsense you are spouting.

6 games in 6 months?
