There was a representative from the Irish Undertakers Association (yes it exists) on DriveTime yesterday saying that they are thinking of boycotting rip.ie because of this unacceptable charge.
Grand - pay 400 quid to the newspaper then.

Surely a short life on this business model.
Most people under 60 are in side groups and will be notified by their peers if a death occurs… The elderly who are not tech savy rely on rip.ie but the side groups will rule the roost in a short few years.
We’ll be saying RIP to rip.ie.

Is it a plan by the IT to kill off rip.ie and force folks to take out the Death Notice in the paper? RIP.ie must have put a dent in the finances when everyone switched to RIP.ie.
