things that are wrong - hotels telling you they have internet and then when you set up your laptop and it doesnt work they say, oh yeah, it hasnt been working the last few days bastards. missed the whole thing. couldnt sleep at all then so was checking the score on the phone and getting text messages so it was as good as I can do. fair sickened tho. watched the highlights there, but may watch the whole thing whenever I make back home again.
J-E-T-S - go fuck yourselves. Ryan may go kiss Belichicks rings now.
yup, fair points, but they will have the edge over the Jets now in the head to head and division as long as they dont slip up with Miami and Buffalo, which they shouldnt. and the Jets are away to Chicago and away to the Steelers too, so tough for them as well. Whereas we have Green bay at home and Chicago away. so I cant see us losing 2 games and the jets winning all 4, which is what needs to happen for the Patriots not to win the division.
at the start of the year, I couldnt see the Patriots winning it out. but looking at the teams left in contention, I dont really see any of them being any better. yeah the Patriots defence is shit enough, but when it comes down to it, they do produce the goods in vital situations. they have made big stops and gotten interceptions to kill games and seal wins. the offence is getting better each week, and its now a more balanced performance over the full duration rather than sporadic bursts.
its a really open season though, and its up for grabs. Steelers, Ravens, Patriots, Jets, Eagles, Packers, Bears, Falcons are the teams I reckon will be the final 8. I dont see much between them all to be honest. Itâll be an interesting end to the season for sure anyway.
Theyâre better without him, absolutely no question. The whole dynamic of the team changed when he left, and for the better. Also Branch wouldnât be back with the Pats if Moss hadnât left.
yeah would agree with that. thing with Moss is, I felt the team and Brady felt they had to make sure he got passes and got the ball just to make sure he stayed happy, and would do this despite his coverage and maybe form as well. whereas now they get the ball to whoever is doing damage, regardless of name or stats, but form in that given day. Take Gronkowski. Cost them a game against the Browns. following week he then catches 3 touchdowns.
Branch also works for the side, and is prepared to do dirty blocking and take hits on small cross routes. even in the game against the Colts, he caught a ball low, short of a first down, and then just started rolling over on the ground to get another yard or so and ended up with the first down as a result.
I was sorry to see Moss go, as I didnt think we had a viable replacement for him, but Branch was an adequate pick up who works well with Brady, and Tate is developing into a deep ball threat with his pace.
Agreed on the Moss thing, I didnât want to bash the guy too much becuse he was unreal for a couple of years, even got his hands dirty with Cassell at QB but he seemed to be completely out of sorts this year.
I wouldnât rule out the Saints or the Jags either.
If the Jags can pound the ball for 5 yards up the middle any time they feel like it how do you stop them? Itâs not just Mojo either. Jennings is useful too.
And when you run them alternately 10 times you can run Garrard on a bootleg just to keep defenses honest.
The Jags have net points of -43 this season and they lead their division. Crazy shit. Green Bay lead the league with +121
If the Saints can get Thomas and Bush healthy, combine that with Ivory and have all the weapons in the passing game ready theyâll be a tough out.
Including Jimmy Graham, the new TE toy for Brees to play with.
They could still get the #1 seed in the NFC. They need to get their toughness back on defense.
How they would love a mulligan on that game they blew against fucking Arizona
Also, as a wildcard wouldnât you just love to draw the NFC West winners.
watched the Jets game there last night. great stuff! the one thing I noticed most was ont he defence, the amount of switching players at the last second and showing dfferent looks of blitz or coverage was unreal. It confused the fook out of Sanchez and the O line. Cunningham had a good game, and the fact McCourty wasnt taken on until near the end and then he caught the INT shows how much the rookie has come on since the first round. Heâs having a great year, and will only get better.
And the speed of the passing from Brady, with quick slants, and then at other times the time he was given by the O line, and the time he created himself with a sly sidestep was great. easy to pick apart a team then. Also see the difference in the work ethic of the receivers on both sides. When Brady checked down, and options were gone, the receivers would keep moving, and doublke back to give him a pass option, whereas cunts like Edwards and Holmes would run their route and then give up on it if the ball didnt come there way when it was supposed to.
the crowd singing âover ratedâ to the Jets near the end was great to hear too!
in other news, Albert Haynesworth has been suspended by the Redskins for the rest of the season without pay. if ever there was a case of a gobshite who thought he made it after a couple of good years, this is it. Redskins were beyond foolish tho for paying that amount of money. he has turned into some fat lazy slob since he moved there and got his pay deal.
also looks like Favre will not be punished for sending pictures of his mickey to some hot playboy one who worked at the Jets.
